Abstract

This paper describes a train transportation simulation system (TTSS), that simulates different conditions of railway sites and the states for op- erating trains. It can be used to test and evaluate the functions of various control equipments on-board of trains. First, the mathematic model of TTSS is analyzed, and then the hardware and software are introduced. As an example of the application of TTSS, the simulation process and results of an Automatic Train Protection System (ATPS) are given. 1. Introduction It is an economic and efficient method to simulate different railway site conditions and variety states of operating trains with computers to either study the operation and control characteristics of trains in different site conditions, or test and evaluate the functions of various train control equipments. Research on this method has been car
