In case of devi- ations from train schedules, conflicts have to be detected and solved. Using modern software technologies it is possible to introduce computer-aided dis- patching systems for operators support, including automatic conflict solution. The use of an expert system allows flexible design, application of expert knowledge, optimal handling of special situations and explanation facilities.
