Abstract

MCPs are in control A.M. Fulton & B.M. Myers Triad Special Systems Ltd, Weyside Park, Catteshall Lane, Godalming, Surrey, GUI 1XE, ABSTRACT Triad's Quality Management System (QMS) was introduced to ensure that quality assurance would be applied successfully to facilitate expanding sales and staff, while still maintaining profitability. This paper shows from a top management viewpoint that although it is difficult, it is not too difficult to get a QMS right. A description of the pitfalls and problems encountered along the path and how they were overcome is given together with an explanation of the concept of MCPs (Management Control Points), and its importance in effective management. The QMS was introduced as a company project, that was managed using the PRINCE methodology. The Managing Director chaired the Project Board.
