Abstract

Environmental management is more and more integrated in enterprises of various activities. The companies have to conform to laws. However, that task is not simple to perform. The profusion and complexity of laws makes it hard to accomplish. A project was launched to define environmental managing methodology rules to facilitate a better integration of operating activities, in large enterprises, with environmental legislation. A prototype expert system is under development to explore the possibility of integrating the different management rules.
