Abstract

Intelligent decision making must be accompanied with important abilities such as generalization of empirical data, deductive inference using Knowledge Base and an optimal choice from a set of alternatives. The canonical optimization model with a disjunctive constraint considered in this paper allows the connection of the optimization based approach with knowledge based and case based approaches for IDSS development. Some applications in Expert Systems and ecological IDSS are presented. 1. Introduction The combination of Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research methods has been significant in recent years. Decision Support and Expert Systems development stipulate the importance of Incomplete Informati
