Abstract

This paper deals with design process for automation systems. A reference model based on different aspects of cognition and knowledge representation will be introduced which allows to evaluate system specification languages. Furthermore the integration of Artificial Intelligence aspects in Systems Specifications is proposed. 1 Motivation In engineering projects many of the different languages to describe systems specifications are causing problems like misunderstanding, incomplete descriptions and contradictions in the specification.
