Abstract

Numerical calculation of chlorine dioxide concentration in drinking water supply system D. Goricanec & J . Krope University of Maribor, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Slovenia Abstract In this paper the results of chlorine dioxide concentration measurements in drinking water supply systems and comparison with the results of theoretical analysis are presented. Monitoring the chlorine dioxide concentration in drinking water supply systems is very important to assure uncontaminated drinking water. The number of sampling points is limited due to underground installation of water supply systems. In this way the described numerical procedure for determination of chloride dioxide concentration is very helpful. The concentration is calculated with the assistance of a diagram for the decomposition curve of chlorine dioxide and a computer program for the calculation of flow-pressure conditions in pipe systems. The chlorine dioxide concentration in every section of a water supply system c
