Abstract

Economic transformation processes, scientific and technological progress, considerable changes in global society, environmental and climate challenges – all these factors make significant adjustments to the management systems in the energy sector. Achieving the stated goals of greening the sector, reducing the use of fossil fuels, successful implementation of the Circular Economy and sustainable development principles are possible only with the use of conceptually new approaches to the management and organization of administrative and production processes at the energy facilities. Currently, the efficiency of modern energy enterprises is determined not only by the quality, reliability and novelty of equipment used and the number of economic indicators, but also by the efficiency level of environmental protection activity and its contribution to the development of regional infrastructure. Thus, one of the most promising management concepts for the energy sector is sustainable management. Current challenges and implementation of sustainable management concept will form new requirements for the professional qualities and competencies of management and specialists engaged in the management and various business processes of energy enterprises. The purpose of this work is to form a primary list of competencies that the management of energy enterprises should possess within the framework of a sustainable management approach in order to achieve long-term goals to greening the energy sector.
