Abstract

Modelling and simulation of complex environmental problems becomes more interesting by using modern software construction techniques for building large scale models. A closely problem-oriented and transparent software design and it's efficient implementation seems to be orthogonal in the past. The pure object-oriented approach in modern software construction leads to a very homogenous system view for developing software in general. In mod- elling and simulation object-oriented system view becomes more and more interesting because of problem-oriented representation of envirommental re- search topics. The paper presents the design of the Object Kernel as a part of the Object Modelling System developed at the Department as an integrated system for building modells on the top of existi
