Abstract

The work describes the methodology, the content and the aim of the computer program AIR AIR & NOISE produced by our company. The program is developed on Personal Computer in Windows environment with an object- oriented language. The program is composed by two integrated modules, Air e Noise, which have a common specific airport data base. AIR module allows the estimate of air pollutants emissions and NOISE module the evaluation of the impact of the noise from aircrafts operation. AIR AIR & NOISE can be used for two main purposes: the characterization of air pollutant emissions and the noise generation; the simulation of measures for their reduction. The module AIR allows the estimate of the air pollutants emissions produced by aircraft traffic within the airport area. The emissions are calculated from emission factors for single LTO (Landing TakeOff) cycle and number of LTO cycles.
