Abstract

XDF system for graphical monitoring of weather and pollution E.W. Garcia, E.B. Gonzalez, E.G. Ortiz, M.M. Gonzalez Institute Mexicano del Petroleo, Lazaro Cardenas 152, Mexico, D.F. The XDF v3.1. system is a powerful tool which has allowed Mexican researchers and authorities the ability to follow in a graphical manner the evolution and impact air pollution has had on different areas of the Valley of Mexico. It also permits the simultaneous monitoring of wind vector fields, wind flows temperature distributions, relative humidity distributions, and probability of rain. It is fully three dimensional and permits viewing from any angle desired. Designed to run on a variety of platforms and hardwares, it has the ability to switch to a two dimensional representation should the graphical interphase of the user not be able to handle the PEX protocol. The system is constructed with an object oriented approach, but makes use of no other than C ANSI language to enhance compatibility with other sys
