Abstract
The pseudodynamic test method to simulate the behavior of reinforced concrete columns subjected to lateral input motions and simultaneously varying axial load has been implemented. The particularity of the present implementation is that conventional load-reversible hydraulic jacks are used instead of servo actuators. The variation of the axial load was estimated by using the sub-structuring technique. Experimental results as well as problems encountered during the implementation of the method are discussed. 1 Introduction The pseudodynamic method is a combination of numerical integration techniques with experimental testing which permit to verify t
