Abstract

Eccentric braced frames having diagonals placed in a V configuration (VEBF) and short links are considered. The frames are designed having links yielding in shear and beam to column top, bottom, and web angle connections fully restrained in shear and partially restrained in flexure. Criteria for plastic design of shear links and simplified formula to predict stiffness are given.
