Effect Of Axial Force Fluctuation On Nonlinear Earthquake Response Of A PC Cable-stayed Bridge

Dynamic characteristics of PC cable-stayed bridges are evaluated by considering fluctuation of axial force of piers and towers, and by using three dimensional inelastic analytical model subjected to horizontal excitation in longitudinal and transverse direction separately. Numerical results imply the necessity of the consideration with fluctuation of axial force in piers and towers to make sure exact in-elastic behavior of bridges during earthquake.
