Abstract

Genetic Algorithms (GAs) have been introduced in different engineer- ing fields as an optimization procedure. This paper presents an ap- plication of the genetic algrithms to solve boundary inverse problems governed by the Helmholtz operator. Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions are given for a part of the boundary. Some values of the state variable are known at observed points inside the domain. The remaining part of the boundary is identified by inverse solution based on the minimization of the error norm between the state observation
