Abstract

A study of AI action of current-limiting devices S. Usuda Aichi College of Technology, 50-2 Manori, Nishihasama-cho, Gamagori 44 3 > Japan ABSTRACT An AI action model of Current-Limiting Devices (CLDs) is suggested under new assumptions, and the process from overcurrent limiting to breaking are estimated using the user-defined type programming language and the expert system shell. Various simulations for current levels and shapes of current waveforms are performed. From these execution results, the CLD expert system for judging transient currents, such as "rush current", or overcurrents is established. Furthermore, many informations for creating a next- generation CLD with AI action are obtained. It is concluded that the method proposed in this paper can be a useful modeling tool for studying new conceptual CLDs. INTRODUCTION Contact or contactless type electrical circuit protectors (CPs) can be said to be CLDs in a broad sense. In this paper,
