Abstract

The mathematical models and computer aided design technique of the microstrip and double shielded meander delay lines (MDL) are investigated in this paper. The meander delay lines are simulated by multiconductor transmission lines (MTL). The mathematical models of the microstrip MDL with different width of neighboring strips and different space between them, and models of double shielded MDL with vacuums or solid dielectric are investigated. The proposed mathematical models are based on the method of row coupled lines. This method estimates the thickness of thin conductors and allows to compute the electrical characteristics of various MDL. The algorithm for analysis of meander delay lines is proposed also.
