Data assimilation was also used to improve modeling results, based on the data from air quality monitoring stations in Shenyang. The use of modeling results and measured data were obtained by optimal interpolation, which can provide a linear estimator minimizing the covariance error of analytic results based on correlation functions. It showed that the multi- puff approach could be used to simulate the transport and dispersion of no
