Abstract

This paper presents the application of selected methods of a modern control theory with the aim to automatize the process of safe handling of the ship's movement. The descriptions contained in this paper show the structure of a multi-dimensional steering system, define the task of a safe steering and consequently models of the process and methods for determination of the ship's strategy in collision situations have been described.
