Abstract

This contribution shows the results of a study of the environmental impact that the plume of exhaust gases from the stack of a municipal solid waste incinerator could produce on the area close to the stack either in the horizontal and the vertical directions. The study is focused on the behaviour of that plume in front of different meteorological scenarios, representative of the most typical meteorological situations that occur in the study area, along an annual cycle. Profiles of temperature, upward velocity and steam condensation in the plume are calculated, along the plume trajectory. The mathematical model used for the calculations is based on a modified version of PRISE (Plume Rise model) (Henderson-Sellers [1]). Introducti
