Abstract

This paper includes the results of the application of the mesoscale meteorological model MEMO to the Barcelona region under typical winter synoptic conditons favourable to the formation of mesoscale processes. The modelling region is centered over the city of Barcelona with an area of 80 x 80 knf. A resolution of 2 x 2 knf was used. Results for 21 January 1993 are presented as well as a comparison between modelling results and meteorological measurements. 1 Introduction The work presented in this paper is a contribution to the Barcelona Project which aims to predict the air quality in the Barcelona geographical area under several typical meteorological situations.
