Abstract

The study of the different effects of fertilizers added to irrigation water has special relevance when crops like sugar cane or others needing great amounts of water are considered. This is because fertilizers interact with soil and also modify water characteristics (actually, we must talk about a different fluid: water mixed with fertilizer). In this paper is reported a mixed field and laboratory research aided with a computational simulation model. 2 Introduction Since the introduction of artificial fertilizers in agriculture, their real role has been discussed. As experience accumulates new facts are included in the discussion and even in some cases fertilizers are seen like pollutants. In fact there are several problems are pr
