Abstract

Starting from an overview of nowadays adopted orthoses and from a healthy man gait analysis, the design characteristics of a new active orthosis had been defined. A particular attention had been paid to limit the device complexity and to its cosmetics. To supply the necessary power for the knee flexion and extension pneumatic actuators had been introduced.
