Abstract

Variational principles in optimal control and their applications L. F. Liang Civil Engineering College, Harbin Engineering University, Harbin 150001, P. R., China. Abstract In this paper, the classical variational principles and generalized variational principles in optimal control are established, and the compatible model, hybrid model, mixed compatible model and mixed hybrid model are provided. As an example, using mixed compatible model, algorithm and modeling results are presented. These classical variational principles and generalized variational principles cannot only be valid for holonomic control systems but also be valid for nonholonomic control systems. 1 Introduction Optimal control theory plays an important role in modern automatic control region. Many scientists have devoted themselves to the study of optimal control theory and obtained many important achievements, such as maximum principle [l], dynamic programming [2]. With the widespread use of computer, numerous computational
