Abstract

A contribution to the analysis of historical structures using LHS method J. &c, A. Florian & P. Hradil Institute of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic Abstract The aim of this paper is to summarise the results of previous analyses of historical masonry structures using advanced FEM modelling and probabilistic assessment. It will be shown that the above mentioned tools supported by detailed material testing and investigations should give us relevant information about the actual behaviour of the structure and can help us to choose the optimal way of reconstruction and preservation. A commercial finite element package ANSYS is used to create a computational model. ANSYS probabilistic analysis or other advanced stochastic procedures are used to assess the effect of uncertain input parameters on the analysis model. The suggested approach has been applied to the analysis of several famous historical structures in the Czech Republic. 1 I
