Abstract

- The paper describes the framework of an object-oriented railway power network simulator for multi-train simulations. The framework is principally divided into two layers, namely the physical power network and conceptual graph models. While the physical power network model encapsulates the entities that exist in the power network (e.g. substations, train loads etc.), the conceptual graph model is used to aid the formulation and ordering of the network equations. By using the class hierarchy proposed and integrating the simulator into a train movement and signalling simulator, the framework can deal with more complex power networks. Furthermore, the proposed framework is language independent so that it can be implemented using OO languages and even conventional procedura
