Abstract

An advanced inspecting system for the maintenance of the track with successive image database S. Ohi", Y. Koike", M. Nakagawa", Y. Matsumotc/ & 0. Murakami^ " Technical Center, Technical Development & Research Department, East Japan Railway Company, Japan CORE Company Limited, Japan ABSTRACT It is necessary for the maintenance of the track to keep operation correct and safe. In East Japan Railway company, we are patrolling to inspect track conditions on foot except for some items which are done in automatically like track irregularity etc. Majority of those inspections depend on personal intuitiveness and experiences. And to do so, it requires many man power. For the purpose to build future oriented inspecting style, we have been developing a track image database system. This system will be able to take successive track images, and to inspect the track condition automatically. And it will be able to preserve the results for use
