Abstract

The SOG system is a tool for computer aided planning of track maintenance sites. In it, work to be carried out at a maintenance site is splitted into partial sites which consist of a number of single working processes. For every working process, execution times and costs can be calculated as well as machine and personnel requirements of the partial site. All of these can be printed in table form; plotting of graphical construction process plans is also possible. Introduction Planning and execution of track maintenance work is strongly influenced by the high utilization of modern railway lines. So even slight disturbances may cause a considerable amount of delays. On the other hand time for track maintenance is reduced to a few short track possessions. To make the best use
