Abstract

Computer package for car body design in the automotive industry A. Iglesias & A. Galvez Cantabria, Spain Abstract The process of designing a car body is one of the most outstanding appli- cations of the computers in the automotive industry. This paper presents a new computer package for design, CBDSYS, which is currently used by CANDEMAT, a Spanish company that builds moulds and dies of pieces of car bodies. Since the program is intended to be used for both stylists and engineers, it combines a user-friendly interface and a powerful kernel of symbolic, numerical and graphical libraries.
