Abstract

Recently, the author has published several papers on optimisation of cylin- drical composite laminated structures by virtue of appropriate change of prestresses in a certain sense (optimization of reinforcing prestresses for given plies, the lay-ups and prestressing, thickness and prestressing, etc.). Such optimization was mostly connected with minimization of the variance of stresses acting in selected directions. In this paper basically similar optimization is presented for laminated plates. A priori prestress - stress relation is constructed by means of a linear hull of external influences (external load, prestress). This leads to a quadratic cost functional and, consequently, to a linear system of algebraic equations. 1 Introduction The laminated plates are solved by virtue of the Refined Reissner The- ory (RRT), which is considered to hold in every la
