Abstract

Building rapidly assembled shelters leads, among other solutions, to a very simple form: air supported domes. However difficulty in accessing and maintaining this shapes turned our studies to other models in which the inflated space is not the whole interior of the dome but the dome itself. Two different models have been studied and constructed: a tubular dome and a shell dome. In parallel, the theoretical analysis has been carried out through comparative rigid models or as pneumatic structure analysed by our software WinTESS. Materials for the membrane, ventilators and wind actions have been other topics that have been developed in this work. In both cases simplicity in designing, calculating, constructing and setting up and down the object have been the targets of this research work. The use in real situations has served to show which are the problems a
