Abstract

Two different models for solving Boussinesq equations are implemented in the framework of the TELEMAC system, first an explicit model with a prediction- correction algorithm and an assumption of irrotational fluid in the Boussinesq terms, then a fully implicit model coupling the depth and the 2 components of velocity. The two models are tested on schematical test-cases and then applied to the problem of waves in reservoirs, due to landslides. The effect of the initial source term on the waves is then studied. 1 Introduction Shallow Water Equations (SWE) are not suitable for waves. For example, no solitary wave can be a solution of the SWE. Th
