Abstract

The Malakow Tower Prosper 2 in Bottrop is an old head frame of the coalmine Prosper Haniel. It is the only existing Malakow Tower of the Ruhrgebiet with a head frame of steel inside the masonry. This tower was founded in 1871 and has been used until 1987. To compensate damages and to make the winding shaft deeper the tower permanently had to be fitted to new and higher stresses.
