Abstract

Eigenparameters optimization of strain energy function P Prochazka, J Sejnoha Department of Structural Mechanics, Czech Technical University, 1. Introduction Recently, the authors have published several papers, e. g. [2], [4], on optimization of stresses controlled by an appropriate choice of eigenparam- eters in certain sense (plain optimization, the optimization of reinforcing prestresses, the lay-ups and prestressing). These optimizations were mostly connected with minimization of the variance of stresses acting in some di- rections, cf. a simple example in Appendix, when the tools of the Trans- formation field analysis, [1], were employed. Extended Hashin-Shtrikman variational principles were applied and enabled one to consider anisotropic and non-homogeneous bodies, [3], In this paper a qualitatively different functional is studied. The strain energy function including the eigenstrains or eigenstresses is considered, its stationary point is searched for. When minimizing
