Abstract

Qamaruddin\ M.S. ^Department of Civil Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India ^Department of Civil Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University Muscat, Sultanate of Oman ABSTRACT Earthquake response analysis of multistoreyed buildings has been carried out by earlier researchers with limited objectives. The lateral and shear force distribution with storey height of such buildings as recommended by I.S.Code 1893-1975 is to be examined. Therefore more investigations regarding multistoreyed buildings subjected to earthquakes are required. In the present investigation, dynamic response analysis of buildings subjected to earthquakes has been made to examine maximum displacements,velocities, accelerations and shear forces. The computation of storey shear along the height of the buildings has also been made as recommended by I.S.Code 1893-1975 Uniform Building Code
