Abstract

The results from the dynamic behaviour of sixteen reinforced or prestressed concrete highway bridges under traffic and ambient (wind) excitations are presented. With the procedure of the non-linear regression, analytical semi- empirical formulas which compare the geometric data of the superstructure with the values of the fundamental frequency, result. Also are presented for one bridge experimental values for the higher vertical and torsional vibra- tion modes of superstructure. 1. Introduction The reliable knowledge of the values of the basic dynamic characteris- tics in structures such as bridges, where, except the seismic loads, of high importance in the dynamic loadings also the operational loads are, it is mostly desirable. The so far international experimental experience is con- cerned most
