Abstract

The paper presents the global situation in road safety and describes the current situation in several European counties, drawing attention to the adverse developments in some of them. It presents the approach of the international project SOL in relation to strengthen road safety management capacity in the region of Central Europe. It underlines the added value of networking and contains recommendations for building multi-stakeholder partnerships for road safety at a national, regional and community level.
