Abstract

Invited Paper Coupling heat radiation in cavities with nonlinear heat conduction R.A. Bialecki Institute of Thermal Technology, Technical University of Silesia, 44-101 Gliwice, Konarskiego 22, Poland ABSTRACT Coupled radiation-conduction problems in 3D heat conducting solid form- ing concave, mutually irradiating boundaries is dealt with. Steady state conduction in multizone bodies of temperature dependent conductivity and arbitrary boundary condition sets are considered. Medium filling the ra- diating cavity is transparent, the radiating surfaces are diifuse, gray emit- ters and reflectors. Radiating boundaries can form either a closed surface or exchange radiative energy with the environment through an opening. KirchhofTs transformation is used to handle the material nonlinearity of heat conduction equation. Both conduction and radiation equations are discretized using standard BEM procedure. Using Gaussian elimination, the resulting two coupled sets of nonlinear equations ar
