On The Verification Of A Potential Based Low Order Boundary Element Method For Incompressible Flows

For a low-order potential based boundary element method we examine the error behavior when decreasing the typical element size in lifting 2-D flows and non-lifting 2-D and 3-D flows by comparison with analytical solutions. A verification procedure based on a least-squares fit of the numerical results in series of geometrically similar grids appears to be a viable approach to derive the apparent order of accuracy and to perform the extrapolation of the calculation to zero element size.
