Abstract

3D boundary element discretizations for linear elastic analysis of flexible and rigid piles P. Parreira," P. Varatojo* " Department of Civil Engineering, Instituto Superior Tecnico, Av. The classic boundary element subregions approach is used in the analysis of flexible piles. To study the behaviour of rigid piles, a rigid subregion formulation is proposed. An infinite boundary element was implemented to represent layered domains by subregions. The results are presented and compared with others published in the literature. INTRODUCTION The Boundary Element Method has proved very efficient in the modelling of soil found
