Abstract

Trefftz method is considered as the boundary-type solution procedures using regular T-complete functions. Since the T-complete functions are regular, the formulation is also regular and therefore, simpler than the ordinary boundary element methods employing the singular fundamental solutions. The TVefftz methods are classified into direct and indirect formulations. This paper describes the application of the directrtype Trefftz method to the sensitivity analysis. In the direct formulation, the weighted residual expression is derived from the governing equation by taking the regular T- complete functions as the weight functions. Applying the Green's formula, the boundary integral equation is derived from the weighted residual ex- pression. Since the integral equ
