Abstract

This paper presents a new boundary-type scheme for the shape design sen- sitivity analysis by Trefftz formulation. In the Trefftz formulation, the physical quantities are approximated by the superposition of the regular T-complete functions. Therefore, the direct differentiation of the approxi- mate expressions leads to the regular ones of the sensitivities. Finally, the simple numerical example in the linear elasticity is solved in order to confirm the validity. 1 Introduction Trefftz methods are known as the boundary-type solution procedure formu- lated by introducing the regular T-complete functions[l-9]. The input data generation is easier than the domain-type solution procedure such as the finite element methods. Moreover, the formulation is regular
