Abstract

A model is presented that predicts thermocapillary convection and interfa- cial deformation in axisymmetrical hemispherical drops on a flat plate. An adapted Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is used to meet the tangential stress condition at minimum loss in accuracy of contour integrals derived by integrating the Navier-Stokes equations. First test show good results similar to the more elaborate computations performed in an earlier study in cartesian coordinates [3]. 1 Introduction This paper presents a model for predicting Marangoni flows in axisymmet- rical spherical drops. Marangoni flows and interface motion in spherical drops are particularly interesting since they might affect the heat resistance of drops condensating o
