Abstract

This paper outlines the development of a Knowledge Based Decision Support System for Water Supply Management (WSMDSS) to emulate and enhance the ability of water planning experts in the decision making process. The case of a medium-size city water suply distribution network in South India is presented as a demonstration of the approach, Introduction The main objective of water supply management is to provide the reliable supply under varied availability conditions. This management is difficult because of varying demands and multi-objective and multi-institutional characteristics of water supply systems.
