It is a major component of software maintenance, whose purpose is to ensure a correct and reliable maintenance activity. Recently proposed regression testing strategies have problems in their practical use because of the lack of management and control information about regression testing or maintenance activities. The need for a data management system(i.e., a database or a repository) to aid regression testing has been recognised.
