Abstract

This paper introduces the concepts of structured methods into the design of a QMS. It considers ways in which these methods can help the validation of such a quality management system. It reviews relevant aspects of the history of QMS implementations and the concepts of structured methods. The report shows how network theory structures and algorithms can contribute to the validation of a QMS. Examples are used to show how the techniques are applied in practical situations. Finally a tool is specified to automate the validation of a quality management system using these methods. 2 Introduction This paper introduces the concepts of structured methods into the design of a QMS.
