Abstract

The concepts of burnout and emotional intelligence are presented in this paper. This research is designed to estimate levels of burnout as measured with the Maslach Burnout Inventory, in relation to levels of emotional intelligence as measured with the Emotional Competence Inventory. Two groups of Greek employees are compared. The first being a group of client service employees in banking, shipping, security systems and insurance companies while the second being a group of insurance consultants who visit clients at their homes.
