Abstract

Possibilities of computer networking in structural and mechanical engineering J. Cacko Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Racianska 75, 836 06 Bratislava, Slovakia ABSTRACT The expert system for structural and mechanical engineering is described in the paper. Problems which are associated with its creation are specified and discussed. Some practical problems, e.g. simulation of service loading, are shortly presented, too. An attention was paid to an application in a fatigue damaging invesigation, above all. The computer network is constituted as a closed loop system with feedback informations, and the expert system is a self- learning and self-improving one. The expert system can be widely used in a research and production, and it can create a good basis for CAD/CAE technologies, owing to a continual development of its new versions. INTRODUCTION New mechanical structures are frequently composed of many parts which must be co
