Abstract

This paper describes a module of an Expert System (ES) which uses some routines of the IDRISI GIS to manage territorial data to be used in the design and evaluation of reclaimed wastewater irrigation systems. More specifically, the module calculates and maps the irrigable areas and certain fundamental irrigation parameters taking into account the limitations imposed by legal, environmental and agricultural constraints. This module allows a rapid comparison between the effects of the various scenarios and therefore choice of the optimal solution.
