Abstract

The System Accreditation Project for Primary Healthcare Informatics Requirements and Evaluation (SAPPHIRE) has produced a requirements specification, an assessment method, and a hypermedia toolkit. The three facets of the project delivered information products intended to be used by the diverse stake holders within General Medical Practice (GMP). After briefly describing the context for SAPPHIRE, the paper focuses upon the assessment method developed within the project. Emphasis will be placed upon the role of the flexible tools created within SAPPHIRE, both to capture results from the test sessions and to display these results in a way which is meaningful to the would be purchaser. 1.
